Web Browsers

dpd.co.uk is designed to work with most web browsers for PCs and Macs. We recommend you always use the current versions of browsers to make sure our web pages display quickly, and that you have the latest security updates.

Why Do We Recommend Browsers?

There are many different versions of browsers, and it is very difficult to maintain them all. However, dpd.co.uk aims to support all major browsers available today, and we recommend the following browsers in order for you to take advantage of the latest web standards for a pleasurable and enhanced browsing experience.

As well as that, we advise our users to upgrade to the latest browsers for safer browsing, as security vulnerabilities are often found in older browsers, which have been fixed in the newer ones. For example, Internet Explorer 6 and 7 both have existing security vulnerabilities that could put your computer at risk. Don't just take our word for it, test your browser at browserscope.org.

  Internet Connectivity

Broadband internet connection

For the best user experience when using ship@ease, you need a broadband Internet connection.

A sustained 500kbps or faster internet connection is recommended for ship@ease content. Internet connection speeds may vary depending on your ISP and other factors.

If you are not sure what your Internet speed is, you can ask your ISP or use an online bandwidth test from a computer that is located on the same network.

ship@ease minimum download / upload speed = 400kbps / 400kbps

ship@ease recommended download / upload speed = 500kbps / 500kbps

You can test your internet connection speed at speedtest.net

How To Clear Your Web Browser Cache

In order to speed up web browsing, web browsers are designed to download web pages and store them locally on your computer's hard drive in an area called "cache".

The cache contains a kind of travel record of the items you have seen, heard, or downloaded from the web, including images, sounds, web pages, even cookies. Typically these items are stored in the 'Temporary Internet Files' folder.

When you visit the same page for a second time, the browser speeds up display time by loading the page locally from cache instead of downloading everything again. This sometimes results in less than current versions of web pages being displayed.
